Recently Newsed was recognized for it's dynamic programming both locally and nationally.
The first award was received at Esperanza’s National Prayer Conference held in Washington DC on June 13th. Mercedes Fuentes, Director of Programs accepted the award from Jody Torres-Lynch, Esperanza’s board chair for the services provided to more than 885 low and moderate families. Including such programs as the pre-purchase one-on-one counseling, foreclosure counseling, financial literacy classes, social loans, down payment assistance and others.
The second award was presented to NEWSED CDC by Sheridan School District in Sheridan Colorado as part of the financial literacy and lending circles programs offered to the school's parents. NEWSED CDC initiated a partnership with Sheridan School District in 2017.
