I hope this message finds you enjoying the beautiful changes that fall brings. This season is the perfect time to reflect and express gratitude; therefore, I would like to share my appreciation for our members as well as our stellar Executive Committee and Board of Governors. It is an honor to be serving as the President of the Ohio ACOFP, and I am very excited about the work we are doing.

Additionally, I would like to relay a message from the ACOFP Foundation. The Family Medicine Forward campaign is underway and aims to strengthen the future of osteopathic family medicine throughout the nation. I encourage you to consider joining this initiative.

Chicago College Recognizes Beavercreek DO with Leadership Award

The Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine Alumni Association has given a leadership award to Ohio's Paul A. Martin, DO, FACOFP dist.

The Dr. Karen J. Nichols Leadership Award is bequeathed to alumni and friends of CCOM for their outstanding achievements and service to the college and community.

Dr. Martin, of Beavercreek, was selected for his extraordinary leadership furthering the osteopathic profession. He will be recognized at the CCOM Reunion on Oct. 17 in Illinois.

Dr. Martin is a past president of the Ohio Osteopathic Association, ACOFP, the Ohio Chapter of ACOFP, the Dayton District Academy of Osteopathic Medicine, and the current President of the ACOFP Foundation. He also serves as a Clinical Family Medicine Professor at the Ohio University - Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and is a member of the Adjunct Faculty and Animal Research Review Committee at the University of Dayton.

Our partners at the Ohio Osteopathic Association bring advocacy directly to members through ongoing engagement and by investing in a government relations firm to represent osteopathic interests at the Statehouse. Our members power this work. Membership dues support and sustain a strong advocacy program, ensuring doctors have a voice in policy decisions.
