THE MULTIPLIER EFFECT:
One merger. Three PBPO clients. Hundreds of nonprofits impacted.

When three PBPO nonprofit clients decided to explore a merger, they needed more than legal advice. They needed a coordinated team capable of guiding a complex transaction.

PBPO helped assemble six attorney volunteers from three separate law firms, while four PBPO staff attorneys provided ongoing counsel throughout the six-month process. Each nonprofit had its own law firm and its own PBPO attorney, ensuring independent representation every step of the way.

The result was BEAM Center for Nonprofits, a new organization positioned to strengthen hundreds of nonprofits across our region.

See how this extraordinary collaboration turned three PBPO clients into one powerful new force for the nonprofit sector.

Lawyers are highly valued board members, but board service comes with unique ethical and professional considerations. PBPO volunteers in action

Our Grow PBPO Advisory Council recently spent an afternoon of service and team building with our client, Santa Maria Community Services. Grow PBPO volunteers helped organize supplies for home visits and sorted through clothing donations.

Santa Maria was one of PBPO’s first clients in 2015. With our legal support, they recently broke ground on a transformational new space in Price Hill that will house their programs under one roof.

We are honored to be able to work with nonprofits like Santa Maria as they evolve and grow to meet the changing needs in our community.

TO OUR VOLUNTEERS

Thank you to the attorney volunteers who recently stepped up to support a nonprofit on a legal project.

TO OUR SUPPORTERS

We are grateful to the many individuals, foundations, businesses, and law firms who make our work possible. Special thanks to our Champion Companies, Firms, and Foundations listed below.
