The ChemQuest Group Newsletter

September/October 2024

You may recall that in a previous newsletter I discussed reshoring and noted that rising energy costs are contributing to a growing interest in this trend. The same can be said for foreign investment in the U.S., which is being increasingly discussed throughout our network.

Companies in Europe, in particular, are seeing energy prices soar due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. Hoping to reduce their dependence on Russian oil and gas, many of these organizations are looking to shift activities to the U.S. Others, based in the Asia-Pacific region, for example, are looking to establish a U.S. base in order to gain ready access to attractive markets bolstered by consumer optimism and economic strength.

Whether driven by the lure of lower feedstock prices or market access, foreign investment in the U.S. provides opportunities for domestic job growth and economic development. For the companies that choose to establish operations here, designing a new facility (or overhauling an existing location to suit their needs) provides the ability to develop best-in-class operations that achieve optimal productivity while providing for long-term scalability.

These are complicated undertakings for our clients, of course, requiring deep expertise not only in manufacturing processes but in the specific needs of specialty chemicals and advanced materials operations. Luckily, our team is uniquely positioned to provide end-to-end guidance, supporting our global clients no matter where they choose to locate. Please reach out to learn more.

Sincerely,

Daniel Murad, CEO, The ChemQuest Group, Inc.

25th Annual Fermium Report

Congratulations to Fermium Research, which recently achieved a milestone with its 25th annual Paints, Coatings, and Adhesives conference call to the investment community!

ChemQuest CEO Daniel Murad was honored to once again be asked to share his insight into these global sectors. Dan highlighted key trends that investors should be aware of, including moderating price increases and the impact of “more tepid global economic growth and domestic construction activity, with elements of ‘stagflation’ coming to the fore.” He also discussed global M&A activity, various raw materials issues, and detailed breakdowns of key market data and drivers.
