Since starting my 2.0 life it's been busy-- most recently In May I chaired an International Advertising Association panel (sponsored by Google) in Paris on the "Econometrics of Digital Advertising," spoke on business ethics and marketing issues in June at the American Advertising Federation in Los Angeles, and at the end of June chaired a panel of General Counsels for the American Corporate Counsel Association of Chicago. Spending  personal time in Hawaii in July and August was perfect!

ZOE RYAN DESIGNING NEW GALLERY AT ART INSTITUTE
Zoe Ryan, John H. Bryan Chair and Curator of Architecture and Design at the Art Institute of Chicago, is in the process of launching a new gallery at the Art Institute to showcase the museum's vast Architecture and Design Collection.

"The collection gallery will be a testing ground for rethinking how we display architecture and design," Zoe Ryan said. "We will continually rethink, refresh, and redo the exhibition rotations to forge new connections, emphasize a range of narratives, and continually question what the history of architecture and design means today, in our time of rapid social, cultural, and political change." Jan Berger, CEO of Health Intelligence Partners, was elected to the Board of Directors of Cambia Health Solutions.
New Roles
AAR NAMES CHERYLE JACKSON FIRST PRESIDENT OF AAR AFRICA 
Cheryle Jackson, Vice President of Government Affairs and Corporate Development at AAR, has been named President of AAR Africa. Prior to this appointment, she oversaw growth strategy development, government relations, strategic alliances and communications functions at the company over the past six years. She also led AAR's efforts to establish a footprint in Africa during the past two years as well as build on the company's component inventory management and repair services contract with Kenya Airways through the U.S. Commerce Department's Doing Business in Africa program. She became the first African-American woman elected to the board of governors of the Aerospace Industries Association in 2012. Read more...

NEW STUDY: CONSUMERS WORK HARDER THAN EVER TO REACH COMPANIES FOR HELP 
In a new study conducted by The Northridge Group (Therese Fauerbach), participants were asked how long consumers wait to switch modes of communication after a customer service issue or inquiry is not adequately addressed. The results revealed that 55% of consumers need to use two or more channels to resolve their issue and 21% of consumers who contact brands via social media never even get a response.
