ELAINE LEAVENWORTH HIGHLIGHTED AMONG LEADERS IN MARKETING
Elaine Leavenworth, SVP, CMO & External Affairs Officer at Abbott, has been named to several lists highlighting leaders in marketing. PR Week named her to its Health Influencer 50 and The Holmes Report called her one of the Americas Innovator 25. Most recently DMN Marketing listed her in its "Hall of Femme," which identifies the best and brightest female talent in the marketing industry.
STUDIO GANG TO DESIGN TOWER IN TORONTO
Studio Gang has been selected to design a mixed-use tower at the southwest corner of Yonge Street and Delisle Avenue in Toronto. The project will be Studio Gang's first building in Canada, and is part of an overall effort to reinvigorate the Yonge and St. Clair area of Toronto through the use of public art, innovative design, streetscapes and open spaces. ROHINI DEY SHARES LESSONS FOR THE KITCHEN AND BEYOND
In a talk with Business Journal, Rohini Dey, Founder and Owner of Vermilion Restaurants (NYC & Chicago), shared the lessons that she teaches through the Women in Culinary Mentorship program, and how those values transcend industries. "If you don't speak out and champion yourself and ask for a bigger piece of the pie, again you're doomed. You will be sidelined. Carrie is noted for her tenacity, hard work and what it means to believe in yourself and Lori is noted for her lessons of not staying complacent or getting too comfortable.

ANNE PRAMAGGIORE SELECTED AS 2017 "ETS THOUGHT LEADER OF THE YEAR"
ComEd President and CEO Anne Pramaggiore has been selected as the 2017 Energy Thought Summit Thought Leader of the Year. Anne was chosen for the honor from a group of peers following voting by approximately 1,600 ETS alumni and participants.

Anne will be recognized during a ceremony at Zpryme's ETS17 on March 29, 2017 at 5:30 pm at The Townsend in Austin, Texas. The "Thought Leader of the Year" award honors an individual with an inventive, brave vision to inspire the global energy ecosystem.

CHICAGO FOUNDATION FOR WOMEN TO HOST 10TH NONPROFIT BOARD BOOT CAMP
Chicago Foundation for Women (CFW) (K. Sujata and Alysia Tate) is hosting its 10th Nonprofit Board Boot Camp training, and members of The Chicago Network are encouraged to apply. CFW launched this program in response to organizations wanting more women to join their boards, and in an effort to provide an access point for women to join.

This program is a two and a half day training that will cover nonprofit governance, finance and fundraising through workshops and interactive activities. An additional Networking Night offers participants an opportunity to meet with organizations who are recruiting for board members.

Board Boot Camp is being held on Saturdays, October 29 and November 5; and Wednesday, November 2.

YWCA METROPOLITAN CHICAGO ANNOUNCES MERRI DEE HEALING CENTER
On March 1, YWCA Metropolitan Chicago ( Dorri McWhorter), Fifth Third Bank, ComEd ( Anne R. Pramaggiore), The Metropolitan Club, AARP and Windy City Limousine honored broadcast legend Merri Dee with a reception to kick-off Women's History Month. YWCA Metropolitan Chicago announced they will name part of their Woodlawn-based Parks Francis Center the Merri Dee Healing Center in honor of her lifelong commitment to victim's rights. As the only rape crisis center on the south side of Chicago, the Merri Dee Healing Center will enable the YWCA to continue to provide critical support services to child and adult survivors of sexual assault. Cook County Board of Commissioners President Toni Preckwinkle also attended the event.

YWCA METROPOLITAN CHICAGO PARTNERS UP FOR TINY BOOTS PROGRAM
YWCA Metropolitan Chicago and CEO Dorri McWhorter and have partnered with the Illinois Department of Veteran's Affairs on a pilot program called Tiny Boots to provide temporary childcare for any Illinois Veteran who has a medical, counseling appointment or a job interview. The first of its kind in the country, the Tiny Boots program will provide critical support to Illinois veterans in Cook, Kane and DuPage Counties.
ART FOR ALL GALA 2017 HONORED RONNE HARTFIELD
On Friday, March 10, Ronne Hartfield was honored as more than 300 arts education advocates gathered at Revel Fulton Market to support Urban Gateways. This inspiring evening of performances, awards presentations, dinner, dancing, and auction prizes raised over $270,000 to empower Chicago youth through dance, music, theater, visual, literary, and media arts programs.
