K SUJATA ON THE WEALTH GAP 

The Chicago Foundation for Women helped fund new research  that looks at the wealth gap through the lens of women. President & CEO of the Chicago Foundation for Women K. PERKINS & WILL MOVE TO WRIGLEY BUILDING 
The Wrigley Building, one of Chicago's most iconic office structures, is getting another high-profile tenant, the global architectural firm Perkins + Will ( Gina Berndt (2015) and Eva Maddox (1986)). News of the firm's move to the Wrigley Building comes as the firm is celebrating its 80th anniversary. Gina, managing director of P+W's Chicago office noted, "Our new office in the landmark Wrigley Building symbolizes our commitment to staying in downtown Chicago in a vibrant space that will build on our distinctive culture and responsiveness to our clients." KATE MAEHR ON THE SUMMER MEAL ACT  

Congresswoman and former TCN member Jan Schakowsky visited the Skokie Public Library, a site that hosts a summer meal program sponsored by the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Schakowsky was joined by Kate Maehr (2008), Executive Director & CEO of the Greater Chicago Food Depository and Richard Kong, Deputy Director of the Skokie Public Library. The Summer Food Service Program is funded through the United States Department of Agriculture and administered by the Illinois State Board of Education. "During the summer, the top priority of the Greater Chicago Food Depository is to ensure children have the food they need to grow up healthy, smart and strong. In order to do that, it's important to coordinate with public and private partners to raise awareness for summer meal programs. We're pleased to join Congresswoman Schakowsky in that effort," says Kate. Read more...

Chicago United and the Metropolitan Club featured TCN members as panelists in their event, Leveraging Nonprofit Board Service as part of its Business Leaders of Color Strategy Session on June 16. Among the panelists where Gloria Castillo President & CEO, Chicago United (2004), Madeleine Condit Founder & CEO of Madeleine Condit and Associates (1998), and Wendy DuBoe President & CEO of United Way of Metropolitan Chicago (2013).

EMILY BARR BECOMES CHAIRMAN, ABC BOARD OF GOVERNORS
Emily Barr (2002), Graham Media Group president and CEO, is the new Chairman of ABC Board of Governors. She succeeded Michael Devlin, WFAA Dallas president and general manager, the hand off taking place at the ABC affiliates meeting in May. "After so many years working at ABC and for several ABC affiliates earlier in my career, I am delighted to have the opportunity to represent the affiliate body as we navigate the myriad issues facing us as broadcasters," Emily told Broadcasting & Cable.

LAUREL BELLOWS JOINS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE INTER-AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION
Laurel Bellows, Principal Bellows Law Group, P.C. (1991) is thrilled to announce her election to the Executive Committee of the Council of the Inter-American Bar Association, the organized bar coalition of the Presidents of all the countries of the Americas, France and Spain.  Not only will Laurel be working alongside Latin American leaders to address issues of consequence among Latin American countries and global corporations, but she is perfecting her Spanish idioms and mastering "What's App" in Spanish at breakfinger speed since her Latin peers love to chat.  
CARLA MICHELOTTI REPRESENTS LEO BURNETT AT MULTIPLE EVENTS WORLDWIDE
Over the past recent months, Carla Michelotti (EVP, Global Chief Legal, Gov't & Corporate Affairs, Leo Burnett (2003)) has traveled domestically and internationally representing the advertising industry and Leo Burnett Worldwide on key evolving digital issues. On May 18 th Carla spoke in London at the International Advertising Association Global conference, chairing a panel of experts addressing the topic of Digital Privacy and Data Security impacting the advertising and marketing world. Legal and business digital experts from Europe and the USA participated on the panel, and Carla was honored to have been asked to both select the panel of experts, but also to lead the discussion before the audience of industry and governmental thought leaders. Carla is on the IAA Board, and serves on the Executive Committee as the VP of Industry Alliances. On June 11 Carla spoke in Las Vegas before the board of directors of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), where she presented the key advertising industry regulatory and legislative issues. Carla serves on the board of the AAF as a past Chairman of that Association.  She has also has been the national chairman of the AAF Government Relations Committee for more than the past ten years.  On June 23-24 she was in Paris representing the US Council on International Business (USCIB) as the Vice Chairman of the USCIB Marketing Committee before the International Chamber of Commerce Marketing Committee where she addressed digital privacy issues as well as expansion of advertising self-regulation into Asia and Africa markets.
