Just Released: Hudson Valley Unemployment Rates
New York State's Department of Labor released an updated report on August 25 that announced preliminary local area unemployment rates for July 2020. Rates are calculated using methods prescribed by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

According to the report, unemployment in the Hudson Valley is up more than 10% since June and Westchester has the highest rate in the region.

The WCA through its workforce development committee, has been working hard to fill open positions available in the region. Recently, the WCA helped fill 40 positions in the healthcare industry which benefited 40 families and is worth $2 million in economic development.
