An Open Conversation with U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer
Co-Hosted with Nonprofit Westchester
This was the first time a high-ranking NYS government official joined for an intimate conversation with county level business advocates and leaders. They discussed the most pressing issues impacting regional businesses and nonprofits including COVID-19 relief, infrastructure in Westchester, the SALT deduction, healthcare, immigration, the filibuster, and more. More importantly, they discussed how upcoming legislation can help further improve Westchester’s regional economy and how nonprofits serve as a vital success factor for businesses everywhere.

Understanding the Child Care Crisis in Westchester
The session focused on informing employers of the pressing issues facing women in the workforce. Conversation highlights included an analysis of the current climate and level of awareness among access to childcare, parental employment, and overall economic growth. Private sector employers shared valuable insights as to how they added programs and services that resulted in positive impacts on their workforce and business.

COVID-19: One Year Later

The New York State Department of Labor and The Business Council of New York State have partnered to conduct a statewide business workforce survey.
The goals are to understand the current and anticipated future needs of the business community, specifically as they relate to hiring needs, skills gaps and training and to better outline where and how to position resources related to training and hiring programs and initiatives. Joseph Simone, President of Simone Development Companies has recently announced the completion of two new leases totaling more than 17,000 square feet at the firm’s 55 Lafayette Avenue property in White Plains, NY.
