BCCMB will be hosting a meeting to discuss topics including the pricing review, allocation for A167/168, poultry health and chicken market conditions. The meeting will be held online on December 16, 2020 from 7-9pm via Ring Central. The link and code will be sent later. You will need to download the Ring Central Ap to prior to participating.

Yellow Biosecurity Status
|
|
Due to the rapid spread of high path avian influenza (AI) in Europe and Asia as well as the complications associated with Covid-19 restrictions, the BC Poultry Association is recommending all BC chicken growers move from green to yellow biosecurity status.
|

A-168 Allocation
On Dec. 2, 2020, the CFC Board of Directors set allocation for period A-168 ( February 14 to May 10, 2021) at -2.5% to base.
National Allocation (in kilograms live weight):
Domestic: 253,395,569
Market Development: 10,071,512
Specialty: 2,028,748
Total 265,495,829
-2.5 % below base yields -2.5 % below base for British Columbia because the national allocation formula does not apply when the base is set below zero.
British Columbia’s share (kilograms live weight) is:
Domestic: 35,362,918
MD: 2,321,512
Specialty: 1,148,617
Total: 38,833,047
MD represents 5.98 % of BC’s total allocation.
Specialty represents 2.96% of BC’s total allocation.
The pro-rata allottment to growers will be 94.59% .

Reminder: New Licensing System
BCCMB 2021 License fees will range from $0 to $150 based on a deadline for remittance of December 31st of the current year. All completed licence renewals received by December 31, 2020 will be processed for a fee of $0.00. All licences received after December 31, 2020 will be processed at a fee of $150.00. DEADLINE FOR QUOTA EXPANSION. Growers who have not gotten the entirety of the 20% quota Increase must provide barn space by JULY 5th, 2021 at NOON. Insufficient space will result in forfeiture of any portion of the growth quota that cannot be accommodated.
