The Happy Glow is a Bronx-based, woman-owned customized organic skin care product business focusing on African American and Latino women. The firm’s founder, Ashley Scott, met with  Pace University Small Business Development Center  (SBDC) Business Advisor Sandra Cely, who provided feedback on her business plan and helped her develop financial projections and start-up costs for the new venture. Sandra also helped Ashley secure market data through the  NYSBDC Research Network . Additionally, Sandra provided a great deal of feedback and guidance on her pitch. Ashley went on to win first prize and a $2,000 cash award at the NYSBDC Pitch Competition
NY Startup Business Plan Competition
The 2020 NY Startup Business Plan Competition, sponsored by the NYPL's Business Library , offers a $15,000 top prize. To learn more about the competition, visit the Business Plan Competition Webpage and register by January 31, 2020. Please note, Pace SBDC business advisors are available to help as you develop your business plan, and in fact, our client Kweer Cards , was awarded the competition's first prize in 2018.
National SBDC Day  will unite the nearly 1,000 SBDC centers across the country and the hundreds of thousands of clients they serve by sharing, in real time, the success stories and notable impact SBDCs collectively have on the small business community. This special day will be highlighted by #SBDCDay social media campaigns, small business events, and more. To celebrate the day, on March 18 the Pace University SBDC will host a free Small Business Legal Clinic with the City Bar’s  Neighborhood Entrepreneur Law Project  (NELP).
