, hosted the 6th and final workshop in a series of workshops called, Export University, geared toward helping small and medium-sized companies optimize their export potential and grow globally. This session of the series, titled
"Export Sales Techniques/Port & Airport Services"
was held on August 16th at the Mission Valley Campus of Point Loma Nazarene University and provided participants with information on how to work with foreign distributors and the various services available to exporters through regional sea and air ports.

SBA Day and Lender Fair in Chula Vista
The SBA San Diego District Office and the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce are hosting an SBA Day event and Lender Fair on Tuesday, September 19th.

California STEP Outbound Trade Missions to China & Singapore
The Fresno Center for international Trade Development at State Center Community College District and California Department of Food and Agriculture invite you to participate in the following State Trade Export Promotion (STEP) outbound missions. The STEP outbound missions are designed to assist California businesses small-to-medium entering and expanding export sales to Mexico, China and Singapore.

Save-The-Date: Baja Supplier Day Industrial Tour
The
San Diego CITD in coordination with
Baja California Secretary of Economic Development is organizing a Baja Supplier Day Industrial Tour. Activities will include visits to 3 Baja companies and an opportunity to meet their buyers.
The companies that will be visited include two manufacturers and one waste management service company. If you are an existing business that supplies to electronic, medical and industrial companies, this is an important event for you.
When: Wednesday, October 18th, 2017
Time: 7:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Where: Tecate and Rosarito
Industries: Medical Device and Electronics
Required: U.S. Passport
Included: Lunch and Transportation (from Otay Mesa, CA to Tecate and Rosarito, Baja California and back to Otay Mesa, CA.)

MedSummit 2017
When: Wednesday, October 4th, 2017 -
9a.m. to 8p.m.
Where: Hotel Real Inn Tijuana
MedSummit 2017 will be the 9th edition of Medical Device Cluster of Baja California's annual event. The s
ector is comprised of more than 70 international companies that represent an internal market of $2 Billion USD.
At the event participants will be able to interact with 70+ suppliers and 10+ buyer manufacturing plants. Additionally event organizers are offering B-2-B meetings at an additional cost.
Medical Devices manufactured in Baja California range from medical ventilators, humidifiers defibrillators, pacers, orthodontic medical instruments to name of few.
Some of the large manufacturers who will be present at MedSummit 2017 are: Scantibodies, Ă–ssur, BD, Welch Allyn, Medtronic, FLEX, Providien and Fisher & Paykel.

Save-the-Date: Manufacturing Day 2017 Educational Resource Fair
The
Center for Applied Competitive Technologies (CACT) at San Diego City College will be hosting an Educational Resource Fair as part of the activities leading up to Manufacturing Day 2017. The resource fair will include an exhibit area with information from the college's various manufacturing-related educational programs, as well as local service providers and manufacturers. The event is open to the public, including small business owners and students.

The University of San Diego, Ahler's Center for International Business is starting its Fall 2017 Global Competitiveness Series workshops this month. The goal of the workshops is to prepare participants with the skills, knowledge and competencies to be more globally competitive.
