SME Exporters Learn How to Get Their Products to Global Customers Efficiently

, hosted the 4th in a series of workshops called, Export University, geared toward helping small and medium-sized companies optimize their export potential and grow globally. This session of the series, titled
"Logistics and Shipping Documents"
was held on June 21st at the Mission Valley Campus of Point Loma Nazarene University and provided participants with information on how to get their products to global customers in a cost-effective and efficient way.

The San Diego CITD was invited to participate in the
National City Chamber of Commerce's Bi-Monthly Membership Breakfast Meeting on June 29th. The theme of this meeting--which was held at the Paradise Village Retirement Community Facilities in National City--was "Access to Capital: How to Finance Your Business".
Representatives from organizations that provide assistance with access to capital gave brief presentations on the types of programs they offer or provide assistance with. These organizations included, ACCION San Diego, San Diego CITD, San Diego Contracting Opportunities Center, California Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), South County EDC, Heartland Payment Systems, U.S. Small Business Administration, and CDC Small Business Finance.
CITD Program Coordinator, Gabriel Reyes, presented on behalf of the CITD and provided an overview of the various export financing programs available through the U.S. Small Business Administration and EXIM Bank, and how the CITD can help prepare businesses to access these programs.

The certification will be free of charge to those students who are chosen. In order to apply students must meet specific guidelines.
All applications and supporting documents must be received no later than July, 7th, 2017.
