Hello! Today I have just a brief update and a reveal of the first image of my newest painting...

You may recall my series of oils commissioned by the Child Mind Institute and shown in my November newsletter last year (and below, drying in my studio).

Working in these saturated hues of blue and green oil paint in such a large format was a delightful departure from my current (and much loved) encaustic wax practice. I'm happy to say that I was fortunate to receive some very positive feedback on the work.

Sometimes that encouragement is all an artist needs to decide which path to embark on next!

My latest work, entitled Beneath the Surface V, shows a similar palette of blues and greens, with the addition of some more spontaneous touches, such as highlights of pink from across the color wheel.

Some believe that living with these watery shades can bring immense feelings of calm and serenity to the viewer. All I can say is that working with them certainly brought those feelings to the artist. I hope you like this newest painting.
