ChairmanChairman Retires

Quoted PPMA (July 24, 2017):

"I am writing with some bittersweet news regarding our beloved Chairman. Well, Tommy always told me he was going to retire at 80 or until he was kicked out! That time has come and he announced his plans to retire his post as PPMA Chairman, which he has dutifully held for the past 15 years. He will run his final board meeting at PestWorld 2017 and will be recognized as Chairman Emeritus thereafter. The official date will be November 1, 2017.

Below you'll find a few materials explaining the succession, including a letter from Tommy, a formal board order from the Executive Committee announcing Bobby Jenkins as incoming PPMA Chairman and Mike Rottler as Secretary/Treasurer and a press release that was issued on Monday.

As we wish Tommy well and congratulate him on his retirement, we would be remiss without first acknowledging all the tremendous work he has done to grow PPMA to where it is today. It was his vision along with other key industry leaders that gave us our mission, and it is his legacy that we will always honor through our continued work to promote, protect, defend and grow our industry."

Cindy Mannes will be unable to speak at our Leavenworth Meeting this year, but we are excited to have Amanda Polyak with us this year. Polyak will be speaking on Generational Marketing and the Digital Marketing Space.

Understanding the buyers journey for each of the generations is critical to marketing your services.  And in the digital space, you put in a lot of time and effort on social media properties - but are you truly making an impact? Maximizing your digital presence with the four generations in mind, can be a critical component in your marketing plan.   Driving engagement drives traffic back to your website and ultimately helps drive sales.  Learn about the buying habits of four generations and the tools available AND how you can apply them to the buyers journey.

Training on Employer's Rights and Avoiding the
"Pitfalls" of Labor & Industries

Employers' rising premiums are a result of unfair claim benefits to some of their "injured" workers. L&I industrial insurance premium rates continue to rise and employers are forced tofoot the bill. Washington State law protects injured workers regardless if there isfoul play or abuse of the system. Employers are being forced to accept unfair, unjust and/or abusive workers' compensation injury decisions, without proper checks and balances. The employer pays the price with high experience rating and high premium surcharges. Fraudulent claims are very common and difficult to prove. LNI RCW codes are pro "injured worker" and claim managers are required to give the "injured worker" the benefit of the doubt.
