The response to the GIS-Pro 2021 Call for Presentation Proposals was off the charts!
The planning committee will meet virtually during the week of May 3 to discuss and debate the submissions. Track teams have been formed and the program will be developed according to these themes:

  • GIS Leadership & Management
  • Community Resiliency & Sustainability
  • Equity & Social Justice Implications of GIS
  • GIS Supporting Health & Human Services
  • Data Management & Analysis
  • Geospatial Technology Innovations
  • Students and Young Professionals - Shaping the Future of GIS
  • Addressing & Next Generation 9-1-1
  • GIS Role in the Census and Redistricting

The detailed conference agenda and sponsorship opportunities should be detailed by the end of May and registration will open at that time. It is very likely that all venues where URISA events are hosted will require proof of vaccination from participants to comply with local jurisdiction guidelines.

Call for Leadership Nominations

Managing the addressing life cycles from assignment to maintenance, and serving address data to multiple departments and agencies with different user needs and requirements make addressing a complex task. This workshop will focus on understanding your addressing system, the workflows for address assignment and maintenance, and the development of standard-compliant address repositories that provide the structure and flexibility needed to meet addressing needs throughout your organization.

Target audience: Anyone who assigns or maintains address information, address users, geodatabase administrators, NG-911 administrators, and others interested in how to make your address data work better.

After another very successful Virtual URISA GIS Leadership Academy, we are pleased to announce the return to in-person leadership training!

  • Minneapolis, Minnesota - December 6-10, 2021

URISA's GIS Hall of Fame honors persons and organizations that have made significant and original contributions to the development and application of GIS concepts, tools, or resources, or to the GIS profession. Take some time to review the individuals and organizations that are currently inducted into the Hall of Fame. Nominations for the 2021 class are due on or before May 31.
