Clarification on Vaccine Order
for Staff
Who Qualifies?
The Government of BC has recently expanded the vaccination mandate for staff working in a health care setting. This mandate now includes staff of Microboards that are funded by:
- Their local Health Authorities
- The CSIL program
Who Does Not Qualify?
Unfortunately, this Order does not apply to Microboards or Individualized Funding agents that are strictly Community Living BC (CLBC) funded.
Deadline for Staff to Get Vaccinated
Staff of health-funded Microboards (including CSIL) will have to be vaccinated (or obtain a valid exemption) to keep working after the 25th of October 2021.
Exsisting staff have to obtain their first dose by October 25th, 2021 to continue working. If they obtain their first dose prior to November 15th, 2021, they will be able to return to work after 7 days have passed since their first dose. Anyone receiving a first dose between now and November 15th, 2021 will have to obtain their second dose within 28-35 days of getting their first dose. Any new staff that are hired on or after October 25th, 2021, must be vaccinated.
All employees that fall under this Order must provide proof of vaccination to their employers.
