The Unemployment office announced they will be giving out an additional $300 a week to people who are out of work for COVID. See the link for more details below.

CEDR announced the second round of State of Oregon Emergency Grant Funds are available for small businesses.To complete the application using their online form, please click HERE! Applications are due prior to 11:59 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020. CEDR/SBDC will be speaking at our next Tuesday's virtual Breakfast meeting.

SOLVE along with CERT volunteers have decided to address the garbage on the Cannon Beach’s beaches. The beach clean ups below are public and they are on the SOLVE website now. There is a max of 50 volunteers for each day sign up. You must sign up with SOLVE to be covered for the work on the beach through the Oregon State Parks Department.

News from the State

Building a Safe and Strong Oregon

1) Oregon Employment Department Approved to Begin Dispersing Lost Wages Assistance Benefits

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved the Oregon Employment Department’s application for the Lost Wages Assistance (LWA) program, a temporary emergency measure that gives an additional $300 per week to people who are out of work due to COVID-19 and who and are receiving unemployment benefits.

2) Governor Releases NEW updated School Health and Safety Metrics

Metrics set strict health and safety standards for in-person instruction, with accommodations for young learners, remote and rural schools.

3) Oregon, Washington, Colorado, and Nevada Announce Coordination on Telehealth.

4) First Month of Statewide Enforcement Efforts Finds Businesses Largely in Compliance with Face Covering, Physical Distancing Requirements

Over 3,600 businesses inspected since July 4th, statewide weekend inspections and enforcement to continue.

5) Governor announced effective Friday, July 24th:

Face Coverings

Face coverings will be required for all Oregonians ages five and up in indoor public spaces and outdoors when six feet of distance cannot be maintained.
Face coverings will be required even in cases of physical exertion indoors, and outdoors when six feet of distance cannot be maintained.

Businesses

The maximum indoor capacity limit is capped at 100 for all venues in Phase II counties and for restaurants and bars in Phase I or II counties.
Restaurants and bars will be required to stop serving customers at 10:00 PM statewide.

News from Clatsop County

The county has recorded a total of 94 cases since March 23. Ninety-one of those individuals have recovered; the others are convalescing at home.

KN95 masks are being distributed to Chambers & Cities for distribution to businesses and citizens, while supplies last. Take the Burn Rate & Request Survey by Monday (Sept 7th) at 3pm for pick-up at the Chamber next Wednesday, Sept 9th.
