New Ways of Communication

The Kansas One Shot Turkey Hunt is dedicated to keeping our sponsors, volunteers, and Alumni Club members up to date on happenings for the hunt. The Board of Directors has invested in a couple of products to make our communications with you easier and more efficient. Our goal is not to bombard you with emails but to provide quality information promptly.

The quarterly newsletter and other event news will come to you through ConstantContact, and more specific emails will come through our new database system, NeonOne.

A welcome email and contact verification will be coming soon through NeonOne. We understand addresses change, phone numbers change, and we just want to have the latest information to prepare for upcoming events.

Lastly, our organizational email address has changed to:

info@kansasoneshotturkeyhunt.org. Becky will still have her email, but the office email has changed from our Gmail account.

We thank you for your patience and we hope you will remain subscribed to receive the information from the Kansas One Shot Turkey Hunt.

KOSTH Alumni Club Committee

KOSTH Alumni Club held its organizational structure meeting in early July. This meeting was attended by the elected chairman, Robert Boles; the elected secretary, Andy Hall; KOSTH Board Chair Darren Jackson; KOSTH Board Treasurer Mike Hayden; and Hunt Coordinator Becky Wolfe.

This group is seeking members to serve on this committee to assist the Alumni Club in creating opportunities for members and the hunt organization, in line with the mission and vision set forth by the KOSTH Board of Directors.

An event discussed at the meeting was a Field Day event/workshop to be held in September to early October. This event will offer informational and educational opportunities and showcase some outdoor resources.

Also discussed was continuing the path started by the KOSTH Board this spring on planting pollinator plots in the area. One such plot was planted in early May at El Dorado Lake.

KOSTH is seeking an administrative assistant

We are looking for the right person to take a position with KOSTH. You know, that person who can handle many moving parts within an organization like the Hunt. Someone who is a go-getter and a self-starter, and can organize the daily tasks of a growing nonprofit. This position would be perfect for someone needing to fill time until their kids are out of school or someone who is retired, but not ready for the retirement life. It would also be great for someone who is seeking something new and exciting.

If you know of someone who will fit this role, please share this information with them and have them complete this online application. Remind them to attach their cover letter and resume.

This position will remain open until it is filled.

OPEN BOARD POSITIONS

Here we are, already 1/2 way through 2026! Where does the time go? The hunt event may be over, but the organization continues to work through organizational things. You know, those foundational things every board of directors must go through to prepare for the upcoming year. Our board of directors has term limits, and with that, we continue to seek individuals to serve on the leadership team.

Our board meets monthly with Zoom capability. Our office is open to local board members on meeting days, and we have technology available for those who live too far away to attend in person. Meetings last for 1.5 hours most months, but may go a little longer during the crucial times before and after the hunt event.

The board of directors is the governing body of the KOSTH organization, and they are also a major part of the planning for each hunt event.

There are standard nonprofit guidelines for code of conduct, confidentiality, and conflicts of interest, while maintaining the legal responsibilities of DUTY OF CARE, DUTY OF LOYALTY AND DUTY OF OBEDIENCE.

We would love to have you consider this opportunity and be a part of the Kansas One Shot Turkey Hunt Board of Directors.
