Dear Friends,

At NCCC we have made three things about love a priority in this Covid crisis:

  1. Love Jesus well: Live through this season in a way that honors Jesus and allows him to prune and purify us. This means that we allow this trial to work in our character and to purify the greater church.
  2. Love your neighbor: Live in a way that earns the respect of, cares for, and is a witness to our greater community. This means that we are in this together with greater North County. How we live, what we do, and what we say are being watched by others.
  3. Love your fellow believer: Live in a way that cares for and nurtures our flock, especially the most vulnerable. This means we are helping each other find jobs, we are praying for the sick, comforting the brokenhearted, observing safety precautions when we gather, and helping each other in every other way.

We want to pass this test and glorify God in these three ways. Loving God, the community and each other is everything. We must do all three, not just one or two. Without love our singing, our teaching, our lives are just a lot of noise. Think about these three things and ask yourself what can I do? Let’s dig in and love well!
I'm enjoying our outdoor Gatherings every Sunday morning at 9am . This is an outdoor church service that includes worship (with singing), prayer and teaching. We are distancing and wearing masks as a loving courtesy to everyone attending. We are excited for you to join us in person whenever you are ready. (Our online services are continuing as well.)
Lastly, I'm thrilled to share the great report that through your generosity, our Emergency Relief Fund has given over $52,000 to support individuals and communities in dire need of food, clothing, and shelter locally and abroad during this time. We have come alongside 10 of our global partners who have gone above and beyond to bring food and essential items to the orphans, widows, children and the vulnerable in their communities. Locally, many families have tangibly experienced God’s love and provision through your giving. Thank you for being the church! If you’d like to give towards the Emergency Relief Fund, you can do so here .

Keep shining,
Mark
