County announces $10M health equity grant program
New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer announced a $10 million grant program available to organizations that provide resources or services to the public to decrease healthcare inequities caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on Friday. Non-profit groups, organizations and small businesses addressing health equity issues can submit a proposal to receive funding or expand their efforts to address health disparities in vulnerable communities disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. County announces $4.25 M distance learning grant program
New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer announced a new $4.25 million distance learning grant program funded by the federal CARES Act on Wednesday afternoon. The funds will be available to New Castle County Public Schools who will assess students' distance learning needs for the coming school year. The grant is a direct response to the county executive's meetings with school district superintendents over the past months to address their concerns around the COVID-19 pandemic. New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer announced a $5 million grant program for small businesses researching ideas to problem solve solutions to the COVID-19 pandemic on Monday morning. Proposals focusing on contact tracing, commercial cleaning technologies or other ways to fight the spread of COVID-19 are prime examples of projects the grant seeks to support. New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer announced a $1.5 million grant program to address food insecurity challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic on Tuesday morning. The funds will be available to organizations who provide food directly to those in need.
