Community Heroes: James Parker feeds those in need
James Parker has been running a food drive for seven years, but the COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges in how to get food to those in need. After a number of outside distribution sites fell through, Parker reached out to County Executive Matt Meyer and with a little work, was able to relocate to the Route 9 Library & Innovation Center. Now, each week, hundreds of community residents can get the food they need safely. To see the food drive in action, CLICK HERE .

County Executive, Police Officials recognize Police Memorial Day
County Executive Matt Meyer and officials from the New Castle County Police Department recognized Police Memorial Day in a different way this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Normally officials would gather outside the New Castle County Public Safety building with families of the fallen. While gathering together to honor the fallen is unsafe, officials recorded tribute messages, to honor those we've lost from the New Castle County Police Department.
