County unveils $10,000 grant for Wilmington Senior Center
New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer presented the Wilmington Senior Center with a New Castle County Cares grant of $10,000 on Tuesday morning, March 3rd to help fund critical operational expenses. Public safety departments honor outstanding employees
The New Castle County Police, Paramedics, Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services and Emergency Communications Departments issued awards for outstanding achievements during the second half of 2019 at an awards ceremony on Monday morning. 7th Annual atTAcK Addiction 5K runs in Old New Castle
More than 4,000 runners and walkers, including Team Hero Help, helped raise funds at the 7th annual atTAcK addiction "E-Racing the Stigma" 5K in New Castle Saturday. The event benefited atTAcK addiction's efforts to aid individuals and families impacted by addiction; naloxone training and distribution was also offered. To see video of the event, CLICK HERE.
Great Women in History program honors women in the military
On Sunday, March 8, County Executive Matt Meyer joined guests to celebrate the work and wisdom of women making history right here in New Castle County, including 2020 honorees Ret. Major General Carol Timmons and Ret. Master Sergeant India Colon-Diaz. Guests were inspired by the speakers, visited women’s history displays and enjoyed hands-on activities. CLICK HERE.
