NCCPD gives state legislators a turn behind the wheel in EVOC training
NCCPD officers gave legislators a chance to try their driving skills on the same course officers train on. Currently, New Castle County does not have a permanent training facility, and officers have bounced around to parking lots around the state large enough to accommodate their needs, but there's hope a course could come with help from the state. County Exec joins Allan Loudell to talk a number of County topics
County Executive Matt Meyer joined WDEL's Allan Loudell on Del-AWARE to talk about a recent retirement ceremony for NCCPD officers and update union negotiations, the importance of EVOC training, a number of events across the county to honor both the 19th Amendment and Martin Luther King Jr. and the tallest statue of a Hindu god in America. Students honor Dr. King with volunteerism at Carousel Park
Forty teens from Appoquinimink, Conrad, Concord, Mount Pleasant, Brandywine, and St. George’s High Schools volunteered on a long overdue painting project, helping to paint the offices and public restrooms at Carousel Park and Equestrian Center on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. EV Charging station comes to Brandywine Hundred Library
A pair of new electric vehicle chargers were unveiled at Brandywine Hundred Library, thanks to a partnership with the state of Delaware. The chargers are available to the public and are the third and fourth public electric vehicle chargers the county has installed, in addition to the two at the County Government Center.
