New Castle County, Nemours partner on Paramedic testing
County Executive Matt Meyer and officials from Nemours/A.I. DuPont Hospital announced a partnership to test all New Castle County Paramedics for the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, on Thursday morning, May 7th. Paramedics have all been tested for COVID-19 antibodies and will receive regular testing from Nemours to ensure they remain free of the virus. Dr. Amy Cheng Vollmer joins PodCounty to talk COVID-19
Dr. Amy Cheng Vollmer, a Wilmington resident, has been a principal investigator at the Swarthmore College Department of Biology since 1989 where she teaches courses in microbiology, biotechnology and metabolism. She joins PodCounty to discuss the COVID-19 pandemic, how we can better keep ourselves safe and new information researchers have found on the virus. County kicks off Clean Stream Champion art contest
County Executive Matt Meyer and General Manager of New Castle County Public Works Tracy Surles have announced a new twist on the Clean Stream Champion program. The contest encourages County students (below the age of 18) to create awareness through art around one of the five Clean Stream Champion topics: Scoop the Poop, Garden for Water & Life, Only Rain Down the Storm Drain, Cease the Grease and Reduce Household Chemicals. County Exec. joins Teleduction to discuss COVID-19 response
County Executive Matt Meyer joined Teleduction's Sharon Baker to discuss the COVID-19 pandemic and what New Castle County is doing to keep both employees, first responders and citizens safe, including the county's new expansive testing initiative that will allow all paramedics to test routinely, and the County's work with the State of Delaware to secure enough tests to expand Delaware's testing capability for the general public to 80,000 tests per month.
