  • Over the past ten years, the City has taken great strides in improving its streets, storm drains, sewer, and water systems and been very aggressive in securing State and Federal transportation grants to help stretch its infrastructure dollars by securing over $38 million in transportation grants that have gone directly into improving Placerville’s streets and other infrastructure
  • Using local funds, the City has also repaved almost 150,000 square feet of roads through various projects this year alone.
  • Public Works has maintained a steady road maintenance and pothole repair program, using over 9 tons of cold patch on our City roads since January 2021.
  • You can submit a request to fill a pothole or repair a road through the City's 311 system

Along with volunteers from the Upper Room and New Beginnings, Placerville Public Works has cleaned up almost 10,000 lbs. of garbage from homeless encampments in 2021.

The homeless population have a legal right to reside on public property because of the monumental Martin v. Boise case. The City is actively working with El Dorado County, who can help with resourcing and working towards a solution of halting continued growth of the homeless population in Placerville, while serving and helping the current population in need.

Thank you to all the volunteers who pitch in to help, it's clear you love Placerville and your neighbors as much as we do!

The City of Placerville and Arts & Culture El Dorado continue to work together on the renovation of the Confidence Hall and Emigrant Jane Renovation Project! Donations are being accepted to help fund historic preservation and renovation of these treasured buildings.
