UofH and Rambam to establish Research Center for Functional Brain Imaging

The University of Haifa and the Rambam Health Care Campus are joining forces to establish a Research Center for Functional Brain Imaging.

The new Center, outfitted with two state-of-the-art MRI machines, will support interdisciplinary research combining insights from the fields of behavioural science, cognitive psychology and physical rehabilitation.

Encompassing an area of over 500 meters, the facility will be home to a community of researchers, clinicians and students who are dedicated to conducting sophisticated biomedical research and improving healthcare in northern Israel. The Center is being launched with generous contributions raised by Canadian Friends of Haifa University and the dedicated efforts of leading members of the University’s Interdisciplinary Neuroimaging Forum.

Israeli Security Officials unaware Iran blamed for oil spill - media report

Prof. Rear Admiral (Ret.) Shaul Chorev, Director of the Maritime Policy and Strategy Research Center at University of Haifa spoke to Bloomberg News amid confusion about the cause of the historic oil spill off Israel’s coast.

Prof. Chorev stated that, overall, Israel does not currently have a strategy in place for a non-security maritime emergency. He continues, “It doesn’t matter if there is tar on the beach as a result of an accident or a terrorist incident. It was suspicious behaviour that went unnoticed by us. And even if it was noticed, Israel has no authorities responsible for dealing with it. Bloomberg News
UofH student makes history, wins gold in world sailing championship

Gil Cohen and Noam Homri made personal and national history by winning first place in the mixed category in the 470 World Championship Sailing Competition in Portugal on March 15. Gil is a geography student at the University of Haifa.
