New City Hall Hours

At its meeting on November 18, 2025, the Dixon City Council adopted Resolution 25-181, establishing new public hours of operation for City Hall. The updated schedule, which takes effect December 15, 2025, is designed to provide greater flexibility and improved customer service for residents and businesses while promoting a positive, sustainable work environment for City employees.

Beginning December 15, City Hall’s public hours will be:

• Monday through Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Every other Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

City Hall will be closed every other Friday, with the first closure occurring on December 26, 2025. For a full calendar click here.

Public Safety Notice: Active Shooter Training Exercise at Dixon High School

The Dixon Police Department and the Dixon Fire Department will be conducting active shooter training exercises at Dixon High School on the following dates:

• Monday, November 24, 2025
• Friday, December 19, 2025
• Time: 8:00 AM to approximately 5:00 PM

These exercises are part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and preparedness of our schools, first responders, and community.

Please be advised of the following:

• There will be a significant police and fire department presence in the area.
• Simulated gunfire sounds will be used throughout the training.
• This is only a training exercise — there is no cause for alarm.
• We ask the public to avoid the area if possible and to only call 911 for actual emergencies.
