Parkway Improvement Project
Last month, the Town announced plans for a Kiawah Island Parkway improvement project that would include improvements to the landscaping between the roundabout and the main gate.

At yesterday's meeting, OSD presented Town Council with its site analysis and various concepts for consideration. Each concept utilized more than 80% native plants and incorporated strategies to reduce and filter stormwater runoff, minimize the use of pesticides, and enhance wildlife habitat. Through a consensus, Town Council directed OSD to put together an estimated cost to complete the project and on-going maintenance costs based on the selected conceptual rendering.
Business/contractor/rental license renewals began January 1. Licenses renewed after February 28 will be charged a late fee of 5% per month. Visit the online services portal.
Cultural Events Applications
Each year the Town's Cultural Events Fund is used to present a series of cultural events for residents and tourists to enjoy without leaving the island. The Town's Kiawah Arts & Cultural Events Council reviews and selects the applicants through a formal application process. Applications are
available online and are due Monday, Feb. 3 at 12 p.m.
