Director's Cut
Howdy and welcome to November!

The BCDC vision continues to become reality here on the RELLIS campus as we’ve moved from the Center for Infrastructure Renewal (CIR) to the Research Integration Center (RIC)--an incredible accomplishment as it took less than two-years from concept to completion; construction is underway for the Ballistic, Aero-optic and Materials (BAM) test range and the Innovation Proving Ground (IPG); and the U.S. Army recently transitioned from the original $65 million Cooperative Agreement signed in 2019 to a new 5-year, up to $96.2 million indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for continued modernization research efforts. We continue to meet with potential partners from academia, industry and government (both Federal and Texas)---the question is where might you fit in the vision for BCDC? Check out our latest updates and let me know if you, or someone else, would like to be added to our distribution list or schedule a visit.

Thank you & Gig ‘em---

BAM Construction
The Ballistic, Aero-optics and Materials (BAM) test range is under construction. BAM will be the nation’s largest fully enclosed multidisciplinary research and development test range at 1-km long and 2.4-m in diameter,
Phase one (650M) is expected to begin initial operations in Spring 2023, Phase two (full 1-Kilometer) in early 2024.

Offroad Test Area rendering for the Innovation Proving Ground.
Substantial construction is ongoing with the IPG and on track for completion in Fall 2022. While IPG is still under development, it is READY NOW to accommodate testing. Take a look at the video renderings of the Mobility Challenge Course and Off-road Testing Area on our recently updated IPG webpage to see a preview of coming attractions scheduled for completion by this time next year!
