Pace SBDC Success Story: KweerCards
|
|
KweerCards is a New York City-based greeting card company that specializes in LGBTQ+ friendly greeting cards. Having recognized a sparsity in relevant greeting cards available to the LGBTQ+ community, Kenneth Moore, Derek Bishop, and Rebeca Bishop launched the business earlier this year. Pace's SBDC provided guidance to
KweerCards
to help improve their business plan narrative and to update their financial projections. As a result, the business won the $15,000 first prize at the NY StartUP! 2018 Business Plan Competition and created three new jobs.

The Economic Census is the U.S. government's five-year measure of American business and the economy. Conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, the
2017 Economic Census
compiles revenue, employment and other business data to measure local economic activity, helping businesses decide where to locate, how much to produce, and their performance compared to their industry. Additionally, local communities use the data to attract new business and assess the characteristics of their business base, while individuals can use the data to identify emerging job markets and growing industries.
The Census Bureau is still accepting responses from businesses who have not yet submitted their information. Please contact
ask.census.gov
with any questions.
