Throughout small towns and large cities, across foreign lands and oceans deep, rest the most revered among us. Those who paid the ultimate price for life and for liberty.
While they may be gone, their legacy lives on. In every child that carries their name. In every husband or wife longing for their touch. In every parent who yearns to hear their voice. In every service member, past and present, who ever took the oath. Wherever Old Glory stands watch - they are remembered.
They have been called many names: Solider, Sailor, Marine, Airman and Coast Guardsman.
Now, we call them heroes. The battle may be over. The storm might have cleared. But our memory of them will never fade. We will honor these heroes, not just on Memorial Day, but every day. For we have been blessed to have known such extraordinary people.
