Dear Ricardo and Beth,
The year 2022 began with a bang! Of course there were fireworks at midnight, but I'm really referring to the flurry of activities as we got ready to host back to back meetings. The first was the the Latin American Leadership Summit, January 10-16 in the small town of Jardin, Antioquia. There were presentations to prepare, details to finalize, canceled flights to reschedule, and lots of prayer to be lifted. The team did a wonderful job of casting vision and training the participants to better equip them for mission to which God has called us. As you can see in this quick video report above, it was all worth the extra effort and being together with people again was a blessing to all!
The second was the Community Church Planting Summit in Medellín, hosted by Impact Latin America. That four-day summit just ended yesterday but because we came home from the first one with Covid, our participation was all on-line. Once again we are thankful for a great team of people who never missed a beat and carried on without us! The reports from that event are glowing as well.
We are thankfully much improved and looking forward to a modified travel schedule...for example the Annual Meeting that was to take place in Peru this weekend, has been postponed until May. Ecuador and Paraguay decided to host their Annual Meetings online (next weekend and the second weekend of February, respectively). The pandemic taught us how to use technology and now we don't even blink an eye when these changes take place.
On the home front, Juliana will begin university classes on Monday, January 24. She is majoring in Psychology at the Universidad CES just about 15 minutes from our home. Jonathan is beginning to play tennis again, after several months off due to wrist surgery.
