You are invited to spend a week surrounded by the peaceful beauty of northern Minnesota, practicing alongside fellow students, learning directly from Geshe Yeshe Gyalwa, and deepening your understanding of the precious teachings of Yungdrung Bön.
From June 21st through June 27th, we invite you to join us for a very special Bön Practice Retreat at the beautiful Yeru Retreat Center on Garuda Lake in Emily, Minnesota.
Whether you are attending in person or joining us from home via Zoom, GesheLa has thoughtfully designed a wonderful schedule that will provide students with practical experience, guidance, and opportunities to strengthen and refine their practice. As a teacher at sMenri Monastery Dialectic School, we are excited to receive his teachings at the retreat center.
This retreat is much more than a series of teachings. It is an opportunity to immerse yourself in practice, community, nature, and the living experience of Bön.
Throughout the week, students will participate in a variety of meaningful practices including:
-

Sang Offering – learning how to perform a healing and purification smoke offering for well-being, protection, harmony, and the benefit of all beings.
-
Kar Sur Offering – a fragrant offering practice dedicated to hungry beings, wandering spirits, recently deceased beings, and all sentient beings, cultivating generosity and compassion.

-
Torma Making Classes – learning the sacred art of creating traditional ritual offerings.

One of the most valuable aspects of this retreat is the opportunity to spend time with Geshe Yeshe Gyalwa and the dedicated Yeru Bön Center Umzeds, who will provide guidance, encouragement, and practical instruction throughout the week.
Whether you are new to these practices or have been studying for years, there will be opportunities to ask questions, refine your understanding, and strengthen your confidence.
While the days will be full, they will also be enjoyable, uplifting, and deeply rewarding.
There are families with children joining us and making the week a vacation as well as a retreat experience. While students participate in practice sessions, family members can enjoy the beauty of Garuda Lake, relax at the retreat center, spend time on the water, explore nature, and enjoy everything the area has to offer.
