My son was complaining the other day about a text message that awoke him in the middle of the night. I couldn’t help but ask why he kept his phone on and by his bedside during the night. “Mom,” he said with a bit of an edge to his voice. “Since you moved to Providence in 2004, I have always kept my phone on in case you need anything...especially in the middle of the night!” I was struck by how totally sweet and loving that was, but knew I had to put his mind at ease. Ever since I moved to Laurelmead, if I need any kind of rapid response, especially in the middle of the night, I’m not calling my son first...I’m calling the Front Desk (or if necessary, pulling the emergency cord by my bed) and I know Kevin or one of his CPR-trained security staff will be at my apartment in less than 2 minutes! 24/7!” by
