Make plans this Saturday to go out to Largo Park to ride the trains! The trains are ran by Largo Central Railroad Club. All donations to ride the train go to track maintenance, train maintenance, and everything helps keep them running!

The trains run from 10 am - 4pm (weather permitted). Remember to arrive before 3:45pm before the lines close to allow time to ride.
Stages for Starting Your Railroad
PART 2:

After choosing what scale you would like to run, it is time to pick a layout and lay the tracks.

First step is to choose your layout. Do you want just one loop or do you want two? Do you want the loops to join? Are you running one train running at a time or two.

If you chose DC engines and want to run two trains then possibly two separate loops. However, insulated joiners can allow you to run one train on the center loop and another train on the outer loop when the two loops are connected by turnouts. It is important to connect the positive wire on the same side of both loops to ensure there is not a short when the trains cross over between the loops.

Bachmann Track Plans:

If you like one of the concepts, we can help get you the needed supplies to make it happen. Email us the plan and we can get the track together for you.
Once you have the track it is time to put it together on your layout board. Here are some helpful links for laying the track.

If you will be building your layout on foam, it will be important to make sure your layout for your track is established first. If you have gone to our train shows, you have seen that we cut the mountains out and make the spot for the track to run through first. After, you can paint the base color like the grey for under the ballast for the where the track would be laid. Then you lay the track. See the above links for tips on laying the tracks and the tools needed.

Watch for our next email on scenery.
