Leaders Are Serious about Helping the Parents in Their Ministries

Twenty-seven leaders of churches and schools with 7,500 children in their ministries gathered at Manderley Christian Camp and Conference Center on September 8-10 to experience the Parenting with a Plan Conference with Dr. Josh and Jen Mulvihill and Jeff Keaton. These leaders were chosen because of their passion for equipping the thousands of parents in their ministries to train their children at home. We did a deep dive on our new book, 50 Things Every Child Needs to Know Before Leaving Home.

One of the family ministry pastors in attendance posted this on social media after the event: “Last week, Sonja and I had the opportunity to attend a conference hosted by Jeff Keaton and Josh Mulvihill. Josh and Jen’s new book, 50 Things Every Child Needs to Know Before Leaving Home, is one of the best parenting books I have ever read. If you have kids at home, you owe it to yourself and to your children to get this book. Thank you, Josh and Jen, for such an awesome resource.”

We will be taking our Parenting with a Plan Conference to many of the communities represented by the leaders at this conference. If you’re serious about equipping your parents and grandparents to train their children and raise them to godly adulthood and have an interest in bringing a one-day parenting conference to your community, please contact Judy Ralph at judy@renewanation.org or 540-890-8900 to learn more about what this would involve.

I’ve Been Thinking

By Dr. Glen Schultz

In the 1800s something took place that Francis Curran, a professor of the history of American education, referred to as a revolutionary development in the history of education and in the history of Christianity. What was this revolutionary development? According to Curran, it was the surrender by American Protestantism…of the control of popular elementary education to the state.

He went on to predict that once one area of education went under state control, it would simply be a matter of time when all levels of schooling follow suit. The results of this monumental shift in who educates our young has been catastrophic to say the least. I have written about the devastating results of secular education for years.

BREAKPOINT: Christian Schools Should Be Thoroughly Christian (and not just for legal reasons)

By John Stonestreet

Last week, a U.S. District judge ruled against a Catholic school that had fired a male teacher for announcing that he planned to marry his male partner. Coming from a judge notably progressive on sex and marriage issues, who cited last year’s consequential Bostock decision, this wasn’t much of a surprise. However, a significant part of his reasoning was: the Catholic school was not Catholic enough.

Here’s the story. In 2014, a male substitute drama teacher at Charlotte Catholic School announced on Facebook that he planned to marry his male partner.

The Key to Kingdom Marketing: Telling the Story

Dr. S. L. Sherrill

Someone has said, “We write a story every day by the words that we say and by the things that we do.” As believers, we have the most incredible story ever told. As educators, we tell that story through Kingdom education. The question to be answered is, “What story will our school families and community hear?”

Kingdom Marketing leads others to take faithful action in building God’s Kingdom one day at a time with one voice, your vision, and one purpose, your mission.

Am I a Good Steward with God’s Money?

By Joshua Stamm

For many Christians, handling money in the right way can be a challenge. In this culture of easy credit, some families find it difficult to manage their income and expenses properly, and some even find themselves a slave to creditors. Whether you are just starting on your financial journey or are retired and planning for the next generation, we will discuss how to avoid common mistakes that many people make and be the best steward of what you have been entrusted to manage.
