New first-time freshmen delight in receiving acceptance letters

Central State University provided exciting news just before the holidays as a large batch of new first-time freshmen received their acceptance letters, welcoming them to join the CSU family. About 85% of the 609 students were offered scholarships, said Arletha McSwain, Ph.D., vice provost for Access and Enrollment Management.

Sophomore launches student chapter of Association for Computer Machinery

Kettering, Ohio, native Dylan Damiano, a Central State University sophomore majoring in Computer Sciences and Mathematics (Honors College), has spent the last few months establishing a chapter of the global Association for Computer Machinery (CSU ACM) that will officially kick off in the 2024 spring semester. Central State ramps up program to teach future educators how to teach reading

Central State is renewing its commitment to bolstering its College of Education courses that teach future educators how to teach effectively. A recent report indicated that fewer than half of Ohio's elementary school teachers graduated from higher education institutions whose teacher prep programs received a satisfactory grade. Read more
