Great Leaders in Atlanta History

On Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 12p.m. ET, we will virtually celebrate a unique local leader- Hala Moddelmog - who is being honored with the TLG 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award in Leadership Character. She will become part of a select group (pictured below-Frank Skinner, Alana Shepherd, Oz Nelson, Frank Blake, Ambassador Andrew Young) who have set the example for leadership in Georgia- leading, mentoring, grooming, and displaying why character matters in leaders.

You'll notice we have gone pink for October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, for those in our families and community who have been impacted by breast cancer, and for Hala Moddelmog who is a leader in the fight against breast cancer as a breast cancer survivor and former President and CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

We hope you will join us to honor Hala on October 28, 2020. And as you read this newsletter, we hope you will enjoy reading and thinking about some great leaders in history- taking a moment to consider how you can better lead with character and encourage others in their journey.

Great Leaders Overcome Personal Adversity

By Tino Mantella, TLG President & CEO

Book I'm Reading...

Stephen E. Ambrose

Ambrose is one of my favorite authors. This book compares and contrasts the lives of these two historic figures. Ultimately, both leaders died, in their 30s, at the hands of their enemy. Both leaders were generally revered by their followers, which contributed to their successes but also to their failures. Their places in history will always debated and controversial.
