Executive Director's Message

Sometimes this year, it hasn’t felt like there are many good things to report. A bright spot in April was seeing many of the CEOs and executive directors in our network at a happy hour, organized by LC and Greater Cincinnati Nonprofit News, supported by Dean Dorton and Gilman Partners. It was a great chance to catch up and it turned into an impromptu sharing session about the leaders’ shared concerns in uncertain times. If you would like to help host a similar gathering, let me know.


I can’t count the number of times I have used the phrase, “now, more than ever…” recently, but it certainly applies to our need to be together, to demonstrate support, to share resources, to collaborate any and every way we can. Most of the upcoming programs in this issue are the result of some kind of collaboration – it’s really Leadership Council’s business model. A common misperception I hear from inside and outside our industry is that we are all operating in our own silos, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. If your organization is collaborating with other nonprofits or other sectors, don’t hide it – tell your story! I would love to hear it, and I would love to help you share it.
