Things are really falling into place for our Securing the Future conference on March 4, 2021. We hope you and your team will consider taking time for yourself to learn from subject matter experts on belonging, board governance, succession planning, systemic racism in fundraising, building an inclusive, diverse, and equitable culture, futures thinking, public relations strategies, and preventing employee burnout. Registration is open, and discounts are available for 3 or more, so bring a team and divide and conquer. Recordings will be available for months after the conference for all registered attendees.
Here’s a two-minute preview of just one of our exciting speakers - Marvin DeJean. Marvin is a leading business futurist, organizational strategist, and an “unapologetic evangelist” for innovation-driven solutions to corporate and social challenges. As the Senior Managing Partner of Gilead Sanders LLC., he spends his time helping organizations and individuals take the quantum leap into the 21st-century digital marketplace. Marvin will be leading a breakout session called: "The Big Pivot: Reinventing Organizations for the 21st Century."

All of our breakout speakers and of course our keynote speaker will keep you engaged, learning, stretching, and connecting. This is not another zoom call. Our platform, Socio Events, is user friendly, allows connections to other attendees, sponsors, and speakers, as well as access to the speaker materials.

Greater Cincinnati Planned Giving Council - Diversity and Inclusion Initiative
The Council is now accepting applications for the 2021 Diversity and Inclusion Initiative Scholarships. We are looking for individuals considered to be diverse by ethnicity, gender identity, race, religion, or sexual orientation who want to learn more about planned giving for their professional or volunteer work. St. Timothy Grant Applications Available Now!
St. Timothy Catholic Church in Union Kentucky will award six grants, with a maximum award up to $3,000 each, in six designated months in the 2021/2022 fiscal year to Northern Kentucky non-profit agencies/organizations whose services benefit/serve the disadvantaged and poor in the Northern Kentucky area. In addition to the cash award, our parish will participate in a service project during the award month. Only applications meeting the Eligibility Criteria and Grant Components outlined will qualify. Applications are restricted to non-profit agencies/organizations located or serving the Northern Kentucky community. The policies and programs of the applicant should follow the social, justice, and moral beliefs of the Catholic Church; however, the applicant is not required to have a direct affiliation with the Catholic Church. The application must be completed in its entirety and returned with a submission postmark date no later than March 31, 2021. Grant applications can be found at www.saint-timothy.org.

Board Meeting Observations
The Board Orientation + Leadership Development (BOLD) program provides its participants a chance to observe nonprofit board meetings. This year, we are encouraging our Leadership Council for Nonprofit member organizations to consider this opportunity. Members have typically been willing to allow 2-3 participants to observe their meetings at a time. Please note there will be four BOLD classes in 2021-2022. The class dates are here.
If you are available to host a BOLD participant to observe your meeting please complete this form. All information will remain confidential, and the observer will be making notes on this observation sheet.

YWCA's 21-Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge
The 21-Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge is designed to create dedicated time and space to build more effective social justice habits, particularly those dealing with issues of race, power, privilege, and leadership. Our challenge starts on Monday, March 1st and continues (Monday –Friday) through March 29th.
Each day of the challenge you will be presented with activities such as reading an article, listening to a podcast, reflecting on personal experience and more. Participation in an activity like this helps us to discover how racial injustice and social injustice impact our community, to connect with one another, and to identify ways to dismantle racism and other forms of discrimination. Securing the Future Conference

Securing the Future is an annual, half-day conference dedicated to building the strategic, leadership, and resource development skills of the board, staff, and donors of Greater Cincinnati nonprofits. The conference will feature Keynote Speaker, Vanessa Mason, Research Director at the Institute for the Future, as well as 13 Breakout Sessions led by local speakers for a deeper dive into the keynote topic.

Santa Maria Community Services recently celebrated our 123rd year of helping families help themselves. We were founded downtown to work with Italian immigrants to our region and moved to the Price Hill area in 1966. We are now a multi-service agency focused on helping families achieve their educational, financial and health goals while also strengthening the Price Hill community.
Growing up as the oldest of five children first in rural WV and later in Brazil where my parents served as missionaries in the 1970s, and really maturing in my Christian faith through high school and college, I knew I wanted to serve people in some capacity. I came to Santa Maria in 1984, right out of grad school, and worked for five years as a community organizer in Lower Price Hill before being named CEO in 1989.
