Executive Director's Message - Jenny Berg
What does belonging look like to you today and why is it important'? The Mayo Clinic says, "The sense of belonging is fundamental to the way humankind organizes itself. ... The social ties that accompany a sense of belonging are a protective factor helping manage stress. When we feel we have support and are not alone, we often cope more effectively with difficult times in our lives.”

What will belonging look like in the future? Vanessa Mason, keynote for our virtual Securing the Future conference on March 4, will focus on "The Future of Belonging in the Age of Omni-Crisis: Pathways for Transformation”. "Omni-Crisis” is a term coined by Ed Yong, a writer at The Atlantic, to describe the COVID pandemic as a crisis that touches everyone everywhere. Vanessa’s newsletter, Future of Belonging, explores how we can redesign tools and remodel approaches to fulfill the basic human need for belonging over the next decade as loneliness, alienation, and exclusion become more pervasive. For more on Vanessa click HERE.

In addition to Vanessa’s keynote, we’ll have many breakout sessions including these four tracks: Boards of the Future, Community Change, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and Strategy & Operations to help your nonprofit organization secure its future! Registration for STF 2021 is now open - Click HERE.

Thanks!

Dress for Success Cincinnati
The mission of Dress for Success Cincinnati (DFSC) is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing professional attire, a network of support and career development tools to help them thrive in work and life. We believe each woman deserves the chance to dream and reach her potential because when she does, her impact on her family and the community will be profound.
I had the privilege of joining DFSC as executive director in March 2017, when I transitioned careers from practicing law. In my role, I also serve as executive director of Portaluca, our social enterprise boutique, through which we sell new and new-ish fabulous fashions to the public to help financially support DFSC programs. Read More
