Last month, I told you that I was hopeful about 2026. Here’s why: As I read through many of your year-end emails, some common words jumped out:
Resolve, Resilience, Relationships, Responsive, Reflection, Renewal, Rest, Progress, Partnership, Connections, Commitment, Collaboration, Creativity, Celebration, Gratitude.
Sometimes these are aspirational, but to me they symbolize the essential optimism that we bring to this work. We want to make our world and communities better, and we want to do it together. But we recognize that we need respite from constant change to re-set and recommit. We need the networks that surround us to recognize this too. If you’re a funder, sponsor, board member, or friend of a nonprofit professional, please ask how you can help us rest and renew.
Since I’m an eternal optimist, I’m ready to take what we’ve learned through tough times and collaboration in 2025 and move into 2026 with new energy. We are continuing the signature programs that you have come to depend on, and adding new ways for you to come together, to learn, and to use your voice for the sector.
