Executive Director's Message - Jenny Berg
“I’m a Believer"

Over the past month, I’ve had the pleasure of “popping in” on our Leaders Circles groups over zoom, or in-person groups. What I’ve heard over and over is how this past year they really leaned into each other to support, challenge, hold accountable, and share resources that were critical to helping them get through this past challenging year. They never felt alone, because they had developed this network of trusted peers. This article from the Harvard Business Review confirms the benefits of peer-to-peer coaching groups like our Leaders Circles.

One of our circle participants, Bralynda, COO at Cincinnati Union Bethel shared her experience:
One of the 3 Development Director Leaders Circle groups got together in person at their last meeting! Thanks to our 15 generous volunteer facilitators who are a big part of the program.
"For many years, I’ve heard many colleagues rave about their experience in their leader's circle. But I just assumed it was a vent session where people sat and complained about their bosses and colleagues so I wanted no part of it. In 2020, I finally decided to give it a try, and guess what? I am a believer! I quickly bonded with our group of professionals and facilitator and through our meetings, we developed a confidential, transparent, constructive, and supportive place where we could share without judgment and receive creative and practical suggestions and encouragement. I am looking forward to my Leaders Circles starting up again. It was worth my investment of time, I got more out of it than I ever expected and as a direct result of my Leader’s Circle experience, I believe I have grown as a leader."

We welcome the staff, from a variety of roles, of our Leadership Council members to join a leader's circle. The Circles meet monthly through May 2022, and the program begins at an in-person meeting in September. For more information and to register, click HERE.
