November 2021
Executive Director's Message - Jenny Berg
National Philanthropy Day, officially proclaimed in 1986 by Ronald Reagan, is a great opportunity to reflect on the meaning of giving and all that it has made possible. National Philanthropy Day celebrates the endless daily contributions individuals and organizations across the world make to countless causes and missions.

If you’d like to attend the local NPD event virtually, sponsored by AFP Cincinnati, please click HERE.

Our Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area is so fortunate to have such strong philanthropists in our region, as evidenced by the strong foundation community and individual donors, and hundreds of thousands of volunteers that support our very large nonprofit ecosystem. Congratulations to all of the 2021 NPD honorees recognized by our local Association of Fundraising Professionals chapter!

Leadership Council for Nonprofits would like to thank our volunteers - those who facilitate our leaders circles, act as mentors, join our committees, serve on the board, or offer their subject matter expertise to our members and BOLD learners. The gift of your time, connections and expertise is invaluable to us and our growing membership.

"Life’s persistent and most urgent question is 'What are you doing for others?' ”
– Martin Luther King Jr.

Blue Manatee Literacy Project / Queen City Book Bank
The Blue Manatee Literacy Project is a nonprofit anchored by the Blue Manatee bookstore in Oakley. Its mission is to empower every young reader with the skills, resources and inspiration to succeed. Through the bookstore, we offer a Buy 1, Give 1 model so for every book sold a book is donated to an under-resourced student in the Greater Cincinnati area. Before co-founding BMLP, I worked as an operations and strategy consultant for nonprofits and startups. Currently, I serve as the Executive Director of the Blue Manatee Literacy Project. This month, I’m excited to be a part of the team launching the Queen City Book Bank, a nonprofit with a mission to donate 350,000 books annually to the 35,000 K-6 under-resourced students in the Greater Cincinnati MSA. Read More
