Greetings,

Cooler fall temperatures have made their way to the region, but there’s little sign of things cooling off on the development front here in the Metro East. A series of multi-million-dollar projects planned or underway in communities throughout Southwestern Illinois have been making news in recent weeks that we’re excited to share with you in this edition of Good NewsLink.

Under the Rebuild Illinois capital plan, the Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that it will close a section of Interstate 255 in early 2020 as part of a $64 million project to rebuild the roadway and improve safety. The project will take place on about seven miles of I-255 from Collinsville Road to Illinois 15 - in two sections separated by Interstate 65 - and is expected to wrap next fall. It's just one of several important infrastructure projects underway or moving forward across the Metro East. Did you know that on average approximately 57,400 vehicles use this major interstate each day? We are looking for feedback on how this this upcoming closure might impact your business operations and any related business costs. You can email office@leadershipcouncilswil.com.

Holland Construction Services has broken ground on a new $23 million development that will offer senior living, assisted living and memory care services all in one location. Keystone Place at Richland Creek, located in O’Fallon, Ill., will consist of 152 units including 24 memory care, 74 assisted living and 53 independent living, plus one guest unit. Meanwhile OSF Saint Anthony's HealthCare's newest addition, the Moeller Cancer Center, opened its doors to the p ublic earlier this week. The $14 million, 15,000-square-foot, single-story building will be home to the most-tenured medical and radiation oncologists in the Riverbend area. The new center will bring comprehensive, compassionate cancer treatment and support services all under one roof, treating an estimated 600 new patients each year.

Continue reading on for more on these developments and exciting news related to additional investments in various other sectors across the Metro East. And be sure to check out the Living St. Louis special focused on innovative solutions to the unique challenges St. Louis faces in developing a skilled workforce to fill the high-demand talent pipeline.
