September 4-8 is Construction Suicide Prevention Week
Every year, during September — National Suicide Prevention Month — the construction industry dedicates a week to raising awareness about the unique challenges workers face in construction that lead to suicide and what we can do to prevent it. Together, we can save lives.
Join the AGC of Tennessee and jobsites across the state as we stand down together on September 5 at 7:00 A.M. AGC of Tennessee is offering AGC members 988 hardhat stickers, rubber wrist bands, and stand down materials at no cost to assist in your efforts. Use the button below to let us know you are participating.
Even if you aren't using AGC materials, we'd love for you to commit to standing down with us! Feel free to sign up any site that is standing down during Construction Suicide Prevention Week.
Tips for a successful stand down:
1. If you are a prime contractor, include trade partners so it can be a sitewide event.
2. If you are a subcontractor, ask the prime contractor(s) to get involved.
3. Have employees interact during the training by providing feedback on the topic.
4. Reach out to local trainers. Contact Thomas Reed for help finding a trainer near you.
Last year, 10,000 construction workers across Tennessee participated in the AGC of TN Suicide Prevention Stand Down. Help us spread this life saving information and register today.
