Introducing the talented and energetic...Kema Geroux
Kema Geroux started her own business, Pivotal Ventures, LLC in, 2003 in response to training requests from Hampton Roads businesses and not-for-profit organizations. She has provided experiential education programs to youth and adults for more than 20 years in a variety of settings.

Kema is also a co-owner of The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium. The park provides climbing and zip lining fun for families, groups of friends, and teams of coworkers on 15 treetop trails.   Prior to her involvement with the park, she ran the Virginia Beach City Public Schools Ropes and Initiatives Course. In that position, she provided team development and leadership training - as well as climbing opportunities - for students and staff of the school division.

Kema introduces games and solution-seeking activities during her sessions which provides opportunities for participants create relationships with each other and to enhance their understanding of what it means to effectively communicate, collaborate and innovate.

Meet our 2018 LTI committee...
Featured in January:
Kelley is currently a Recreation Operations Coordinator with James City County Parks & Recreation.   During her 15 year career with JCC, she has worked as a Prevention Counselor, Teen Program Coordinator and Special Event Coordinator.

Although, Kelley's educational path wasn't recreation focused, having graduated from the College of William & Mary with a Master of Education degree in Marriage & Family Counseling, she has always had a passion for and worked in recreation and leisure - from lifeguarding/managing a community pool to refereeing intramural college sports.

The favorite part of her job:  Helping to create 'FUN' for others.  A challenge of the job, though, is that recreation never stops - there's rarely times of the year when there isn't a program, service and/or facility open and operating that you are, in some way, responsible for.  The key is to have trusted staff and support of co-workers so no one person gets burned out.
Kelley attended LTI in 2014 after a co-worker highly suggested the training.  To this day, it remains one of the best trainings she's ever attended.   Not only were the educational sessions great, but the camaraderie and networking that occurred have lasted throughout the years.
