Meet NU ART Gallery - the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation's newest sponsor!   NU ART Gallery is supporting the Foundation's newest program, Leadership in a Rule of Law Country, designed for 35-40 young Ukrainian professionals who will be participating in training and discussion activities, March 20-28, 2019, in Washington, DC.

Established in 2008 NU ART Gallery is proud to present fine Ukrainian art.  The main mission of the gallery is to rethink the Ukrainian cultural heritage. NU Art Gallery's aim is to be a place of experience and inspiration, through our collection, exhibitions, programs and research.

The collection of the famous Kyiv collector and philanthropist Mykola Bilousov became the basis for the formation of the gallerys collection and its primary exhibition activity.

The large collection of the gallery includes a collection of works by prominent Ukrainian artists like Sergei Shishko, Adalbert (Bela) Erdelyi, Oleksa Nowakiwskij, Roman Selski, Mikhail Zhuk, Valentin Khrushch, Valentina Tsvetkova. Ukrainian and Russian icons of the 16th-20th centuries hold special place in the collection, which has over 200 unique monuments of sacral painting, created in the best traditions of large artistic icon-painting centers and schools.

NU ART Gallery presents artists from all regions of Ukraine, aiming to open the talents of talented authors from all over the country.

The gallery cooperates with contemporary Ukrainian artists, striving to emphasize the original intention of the authors who created their work for many years. In this case, special attention is paid to the personality of each artist, his tastes and preferences.

Among NU ART Gallery's humanitarian initiatives are:

The charity auction ART YOUTH ... for this event students of Borys Hrinchenko Kyiv University were encouraged to organize an auction of handmade artifacts created by students themselves and their teachers to raise money for one of the students who had cancer.

The Charity Auction Hilton Kyiv  ... the main aim of the auction was raising funds for the Foundation "With Open Hearts" which supports newborn children with heart disease.  For this auction, paintings were prepared by famous Ukrainian artists and businessmen and TV-stars.  The cooperation and support of many well-known Ukrainians  made this event a success!

Supporting projects of the Ukrainian Association of Feminine Research in the Arts (UAFRA), who see as their main goal the struggle for gender equality in the field of arts in Ukraine.

Most of NU ART Gallery's projects are exhibitions aiming to popularize Ukrainian art and culture.   Some examples include, support for the National Museum of Andrey Sheptytsky on the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Trusz and arranging the Ukrainian Icon XVI-XVIII Century Exhibition in the National Cultural and Historical Reserve of "Kievan Sophia" which was very popular and lasted over a year.

Many of NU ART Gallery's aims coincide with the Foundation's activities of its past  CUltural REbirth of Ukraine Project CURE which was managed by the late Walter Belanger from 2002 to 2006.
Some of NU ART Gallery's art is expected to be displayed during the upcoming leadership program.

Expectations are high that Russia will attempt to interfere in the upcoming Ukrainian presidential elections, scheduled for March 31. Having failed, since 2014, to force Kyiv back into its orbit using purely military means, the Kremlin has been gearing up a broad spectrum of instruments-including cyberattacks, disinformation, courting of pro-Russian politicians and their supporters, inflaming of religious tensions, as well as threats of further military escalation-in order to put pressure on Ukraine via its democratic process.

Three main candidates have for weeks been leading the polls in the Ukrainian presidential campaign: incumbent President Petro Poroshenko, former prime minister and a leader of the Batkivshchyna ("Fatherland") party Yulia Tymoshenko, and a famous comedian with zero political experience, Volodymir Zelensky. None of them can be described as "pro-Russian." The most popular among the current pro-Russian candidates, Yuriy Boyko, recently polled fourth, with 7.4 percent of support among decided voters ( RBC, March, 4).

One of the methods (already being observed) that the Kremlin is using ... CLICK to read more

When the protests ended, the team had to reinvent itself. I wondered what our true impact on society had been. By overcoming a number of economic and political challenges, the example set by Hromadske did offer encouragement to many small media outlets across the country  ... "  CLICK to read
