Bob Whitesel has watched many online Sunday services to identify recurring weaknesses and help churches improve their livestreaming. He offers eight practical suggestions for engaging online worshipers more effectively.

In-depth Interview with John Wimberly
Are virtual meetings and work-from-home staff part of the new normal in your church? Ann A. Michel interviews John Wimberly about best practices for working with staff and volunteers in a hybrid era.

Meghan Hatcher explains that churches capable of adapting in response to the needs and assets of a community make it possible for more people to experience the transformative love and grace of Christ. She outlines three strategies to help a church be more innovative and adaptable.

The Right Question
Leaders do not need answers. Leaders must have the right questions.
Humility can be an effective antidote to the hubris that hurts so many leaders. Researchers have developed an assessment for humility reflected in these practical questions. How might people with whom you work respond to these questions if asked about you.

Do you seek feedback, even if it is critical?
Do you acknowledge when others have more knowledge or skills?
Do you often compliment others on their strengths?
Do you show appreciation for the contributions of others?

Because so many congregations have asked for our help with their digital and hybrid worship, the Lewis Center offers one-on-one consulting services with digital faith practice expert Dr. Tim Snyder. In his consultation for your church, Dr. Snyder will review your current digital worship and provide extensive feedback. In a conversation with your worship leaders, he will lead you in discovering the next steps for your digital worship design. A few months later he will contact you to check on your progress.

“Quotable” Leadership
No pillar of the African American community has been more central to is history, identity, and social justice vision than the ‘Black Church.’
